Practical conversations for private business owners
Running a private business means making constant, high-impact decisions — about growth, sales, strategy, people, ownership structure and exit — often while balancing competing priorities and limited time. These decisions shape not just the business, but the people who depend on it.
Yet many owners make them without the opportunity to step back, sense-check their thinking with other owners, or draw on the perspective of experienced external advisors who understand private business realities.
The Owners Connect Event Series is a free, monthly breakfast series created exclusively for private business owners turning over $3m–$100m. Each session brings a small group of owners together to connect, share perspectives and gain practical insights from like-minded peers and MYMAX Advisors who work alongside owners every day.
Attend a single session that’s relevant right now — or join us regularly to stay ahead of the decisions that matter most.

Driving Financial Performance
Friday, 10 April 2026
Time: 7.30am – 9.00am
MYMAX Office
Fortitude Valley, QLD
Session description
Growth doesn’t automatically lead to better financial outcomes.
Driving Financial Performance looks beyond top-line revenue to the levers that truly drive value in a private business.
This session will help owners better understand where cash is generated, where it’s consumed, and which decisions actually move the needle.
The discussion will challenge common assumptions about profit, capital, and risk — and help you see your numbers as a tool for decision-making, not just reporting.

Mergers & Acquisitions
Friday, 8 May 2026
Time: 7.30am – 9.00am
MYMAX Office
Fortitude Valley, QLD
Session description
For many private business owners, mergers and acquisitions feel complex, risky, or “something for later.”
Mergers & Acquisitions is a grounded, owner-level conversation about when M&A makes sense, when it doesn’t, and how to think about it well before a deal is on the table.
Together we will unpack common misconceptions, explore strategic intent versus opportunistic growth, and discuss what owners should be doing now to be ready — whether buying, selling, or choosing not to transact at all.
Push Potential
Every business has untapped potential. At our events, you’ll gain strategies, insights, and connections to push your business further – starting now.
